Director of Missions and Community Ministries

POSITION PURPOSE:  Provide oversight of Missions and Community Ministries
POSITION STATUS:  Full-Time, Exempt
REPORTS TO:  Directing Pastor
 
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum associate degree in related field of study preferred.
  • Minimum three years’ experience managing staff, volunteers, and program budgets in a church or non-profit setting preferred.
  • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, internet, and social media resources.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills in relating to diverse membership and community.
  • Strong skillset in planning, coordinating, and scheduling ministry/programs.
  • Ability to demonstrate positive accountability to those in authority.

POSITION ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Provide oversight of the Missions and Community Ministries teams including Loaves & Fish,
  • Lincoln School Buddy Ministries, Morton Square Soccer, Benevolence, and Transportation.
  • Serve as liaison between staff members and the Missions and Community Ministry teams.
  • Perform regular analysis of each Community Ministry for best serving local needs.
  • Coordinate member volunteers and outside churches/organizations to serve in community ministries.
  • Oversee procurement of food and hygiene items for Loaves & Fish food and hygiene pantries.
  • Establish relationship with walk-ins from community during Sunday Worship and other church events.
  • Serve as liaison between the church and other non-profit and government organizations.
 
POSITION ANCILLARY DUTIES:
  • Participate in regular team, staff, and leadership meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Director of Children and Family Ministries

POSITION PURPOSE:  To make disciples of Jesus Christ through Children and Family Ministries
POSITION STATUS:  Full-Time, Exempt     
 REPORTS TO:  Directing Pastor
 
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent field of study preferred.
  • Minimum three years’ experience in childcare or similar position preferred.
  • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, necessary internet tools, and social media resources.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills in relating to members and diverse community.
  • Strong skillset in planning, coordinating, and implementing ministry/programming.
  • Ability to effectively supervise others and demonstrate positive accountability to those in authority.

POSITION ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute comprehensive ministry programs and outreach to children and families.
  • Procure quality curricula for children and families in Sunday school and other special programs.
  • Recruit and train-equip volunteer-servants in children and family ministries including annual Vacation Bible School, seasonal, and special events.
  • Create and manage annual budget including restricted funds relating to children and family ministries.
  • Identify all logistical and technology necessary to ensure effective ministry to children and families.
  • Design a viable, ongoing, volunteer-driven ministry to children at the Saturday ‘Alive’ worship service.
  • Provide full resources, guidance, and support for children and families within the Hispanic community.
  • Supervise and evaluate other staff involved in the delivery of children and family ministries.
  • Direct all necessary information related to Children and Family Ministries for website, print, intra-church, and community publicity to the Director of Communication.
